Overview

The RCH Ski Club was established thanks to the generosity of our patron Dame Elizabeth Murdoch. It aims to provide employees of the Royal Children’s Hospital and associated health services with low cost year round recreational accommodation in the Victorian alps.

The Basics

The Club
The RCH Ski Club is a non-profit organisation established to provide employees of the Royal Children's Hospital and their families the opportunity to access Victoria's Alps for some well earned R&R.

The Lodges
The ski club has two lodges one at Mount Buller and the other at Mount Hotham. Both lodges provide self-catering accommodation in dormitory style rooms with rooms accommodating
2 to 6 people. (We do not have any rooms with cots)

Both lodges have fully equipped kitchens. Members and guests supply their own sheets, pillowcases and towels. All beds have doonas and electric blankets, sleeping bags are not acceptable. Bathrooms are shared between several rooms.

Mount Buller has 30 beds and Mount Hotham has 22 beds. Neither lodge have phones, stereos or televisions. Both lodges are well located within their respective villages.

Discount Accommodation
Members enjoy the benefit of being able to use the club’s lodges at some of the cheapest rates available anywhere on the mountain.

Guests of Members
Members have priority when booking accommodation. Members can only book for one guest prior to the commencement of the ski season. Members must accompany guests. Lodge fees are payable on booking.

Members and guests are required to undertake lodge duties that include cleaning and tidying while using the lodges.

Ski Hire and Tickets
The ski club does not hire out ski equipment or have any deals with lift companies regarding lift tickets or lessons.

The Committee
A voluntary committee elected by the members runs the ski club. The club is a not for profit club, members are encouraged to attend club activities when organised. These include work parties and social activities.

Children
The RCH Ski Club is a family friendly organisation, however some restrictions on children do apply.

During the snow season children under the age of 2 years can only stay in the lodges if it’s agreeable to all other people staying in the lodge at that time. Lodges can be used all year round.

Certain weekends during peak season children using the lodge must pay adult rates.
